Aim of Dressing
Wick away exudate from the wound bed and apply appropriate circumferential pressure to aid in the reduction of oedema in the leg

Arterial and Venous Duplex, Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) +/- Toe pressures (particularly if they are diabetic)

Newly diagnosed venous leg ulcer. This care plan can be used till appropriate duplexes, ABIs or toe pressures can be arranged.

Wash patient's legs thoroughly
Apply aquacel
Apply absorbent pad
Apply Tubular-Form
High exudating wounds
Infected venous leg ulcer
Newly diagnosed INFECTED venous leg ulcer. This care plan can be used till appropriate duplexes, ABIs or toe pressures can be arranged.

Wash patient's legs thoroughly
Apply aquacel
Apply Tubular-Form
High exudating wounds
Long Term
Has appropriate ABIs or toe pressures and the venous leg ulcer is not infected
