Single non-circumfrencial abrasion

he patient has fallen on a road surface or footpath without involvement of a metal object. If metal is involved, refer to the appropriate tetanus pathway.

Step 1

Prepare Sterile Field

Open the sterile dressing pack and aseptically transfer sterile items onto the sterile field.

Step 2

Clean wound bed

Cleanse the wound bed thoroughly, removing all foreign material. Inspect for clotted areas and assess for any metal involvement.

Apply Inadine

Apply a double layer of Inadine over the abrasion sites.

Apply Foamlite

Apply Foamlite to provide absorption and protection.
