Treatment Goals

The patient requires mobilisation and is at high risk of falls; therefore, negative pressure wound therapy was not utilised. The overall aim is safe mobilisation in appropriate footwear while protecting the wound bed.

Aim of Dressing

To support moist wound healing and protect the wound bed during mobilisation and footwear use.

Step 1

Prepare Sterile Field

Prepare the sterile dressing pack and aseptically unpack sterile products onto the field.

Clean

Thoroughly cleanse the wound bed.

Step 3

Apply Urgo Start Plus

Cut and apply UrgoStart Plus to size, placing the sticky side directly onto the wound.

Apply Biatain Non-Adhesive

Do not use Biatain Adhesive as it may create excessive bulk.

Secure

Secure with Hypafix, ensuring a wide border for adequate fixation.
