A localised burn

localised, partial-thickness burn not requiring specialist burn unit management.

Step 1

Setup sterile field

Prepare a sterile field and arrange all sterile products using aseptic technique.

Clean the wound

Gently cleanse the wound, ensuring fragile skin is not agitated by avoiding scrubbing and using light dabbing or sponging techniques.

Step 3

Apply Flamzine

Apply cream by dispensing it directly onto the area and gently distributing it across the surface to minimise trauma and pain, avoiding applicator use where possible.

Step 4

Cover with Jelonet

Place Jelonet over the applied cream to support atraumatic removal of Melolin, extending to cover the peri-wound skin as required.

Step 5

Cover with Melolin

Apply over the Jelonet, avoiding direct wound contact where possible, as prolonged placement may result in adherence.

Secure

Secure with crepe bandaging, avoiding overtight application to prevent loss of Flamazine from the wound bed.
