Treatment Goals

The patient is not suitable for active intervention. Care is focused on symptom control of the malignant wound and preservation of quality of life.

Aim of Dressing

Odour control is supported with charcoal-filtering and antimicrobial dressings, while white soft paraffin promotes atraumatic dressing removal when used with regular changes.

Wash patient

Wash patient in the shower or give a bed wash

Care for the skin

pply white soft paraffin to the entire leg only after dressings have been completed, as application beforehand may reduce adherence of Hypafix.
