The UrgoClean Ag dressing is a sterile, non-woven pad, composed of hydro-desloughing, polyabsorbent cohesive fibres with a high absorption capacity (polyacrylate). The hydro-desloughing pad is coated with a silver-impregnated micro-adherent healing matrix (TLC: Lipido-Colloid Technology). This TLC-Ag matrix provides an antibacterial action and gels easily, aiding drainage of sloughy residue. In addition, it enables easy application and removal of the dressing.

Uses
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Venous ulcers
- Wounds which are not deep
Positives
- Great for removing slough
- A very user friendly product for infected wounds
- Only wound care product that has been approved specifically for diabetic foot ulcers
- Can be cut
Limitations
- Can be stacked on top of each other for deeper wounds however there are other dressings options such as hydrofibers which are better suited to cavernous wounds.
- Can’t absorb thick exudate
Precautions
- Do not use in a hyperbaric chamber
- Do not use in MRI machines
- In the absence of any specific clinical data, use in pregnant or breast-feeding women, is not recommended
